Dreaming of Summer

On a Steel DoorIt's mid-April and there's a chance it'll snow this weekend? What's going on?

At least the weather is improving slightly, I suppose.

Last night I had dinner at Mandoo Bar and dessert at PinkBerry, the latter recommended to me by my friend, Flo. As I was having my frozen yogurty concoction (with mochi, strawberries, and cookie crumbs), I thought about why its slightly sour, slightly sweet taste is so popular.

And then I realized it: people eat what their life is like. People like PinkBerry because it reminds them of their own life - a little sweet, a little sour, and topped with some sweet or fruity goodness*.

Which would also explain people's fascination with sweet and sour chicken, and why I like to eat spicy foods.

Is it summer yet?

* On a side note, while PinkBerry's yogurt is fat-free, I've also heard that it's actually rehydrated yogurt powder (imported); not fresh yogurt.

I know... we're supposed to get more in New England, too. I don't think summer is ever going to come.

Speaking of summmer--or at least late spring--the blogger barbecue will be part of the festivities yet again this year. Due to scheduling issues of various attendees, it will be toward the end of GB:NY this year. So mark your calendar--Monday (Memorial Day), noon, our place. Be there, cute stuff! :)

How would you explain liver then? Or lima beans, for that matter?

I am also a fan of Pinkberry and I tasted an even better version of the frozen yogurt craze, while on vacation in South Korea at stores called Yogen Fruz. I tell you, the froyo at Yogen Fruz tasted even better than Pinkberry. Maybe one day they will come to America because they are close by in Canada as well.

I tried Yogen Fruz in Vancouver and it does taste even better than Pinkberry. I also would like to see them come to America and join the fun.

Summer's okay with me, if it stays for 3 months only. Yeah!
