All Because of An Email

You are my sunshine, my only sunshine.
You make me happy when skies are grey.
You'll never know dear, how much I love you.
Please don't take my sunshine away.

I started singing that today because being happy and skipping down the office corridors without singing something is borderline crazy.  And then the more I sang it, the more bittersweet it sounded.  Now I'm just kind of melancholy, and I feel like I should mope around the office in an emotional breakdown state while wailing the song.  I swear I don't have PMS.

Nevermind, I just made myself laugh with the thought of it all; not that being sad is funny, but imagining my co-workers reactions to my emotional instability.  Not that I would ever do such a thing.

Thinking about it, it's one of those songs you can either sing it happy or sad (to be dramatic).  I even have a vague recollection of it being in some horror flick: some little girl sings it in the background, then *STAB!*, everyone dies.  Any ideas?

Not sure about the movie, but I do like the sub-plot. I can see myself like the little girl walking and singing through the halls at work. *STAB!*

I've always found the song 'You Are My Sunshine' to be incredibly sad. If sung slowly, and with a slight southern drawl for an affectation, it makes me want to weep. Like a baby. See Jase, I DO have feelings ^_^

The lyrics are your thoughts, the notes are your actions... your life is all about how you play it.

First of all, I'm in complete shock at Jon's comment! But I do remember that song from a movie. Hmmm. But what I really wanted to say is, I'm the designated Drama Blogger! What's going on sweetie?

I prefer "Why Do Birds Suddenly Appear" by the Carpenters, which was used to a very creepy effect in the Mirrormask movie. I don't know the movie you speak of.

Actually that song has about 20 verses, and a lot of them are about loss and dying. So there ya go.

Email. It's in the way that you use it.

Isn't that another song?
