Thanksgiving went as expected: low key turkey dinner with the family. I even missed all the excitement of the annual parade by waking up after noon.
Black Friday also went as expected: waking up at 5 in the morning for 8 hours of outlet shopping at Woodbury Commons. And as expected, I bought more presents for myself than anyone else, including this, this, and this.
Saturday I had my last minute "Left Overs Luncheon". The premise is to have all guests bring over their Thanksgiving left overs (hopefully coupled with some freshly-made dishes). Unfortunately, I gave very short notification and only two guests made it. I got over the lack of attendance quickly as we stuffed our faces with herb-crusted turkey, roasted rosemary-garlic potatoes, and chocolate chip cookies from scratch (baked by yours truly).
After the luncheon, I went to see Rent with my new boytoy. It was okay; some songs just don't do anything for me. I saw the play nearly six years ago and I was impressed by the movie interpretation. The vocals were amazing, and Taye Diggs is just delicious!
Sunday was dim sum at a vegetarian place in Chinatown (don't ask why). It was so horrible I had to find some meat. It led me to Bodies: The Exhibition at the South Street Seaport.
The exhibit was amazing: real corpses preserved and sliced open so that muscles, bones, nerves, and organs are displayed. After seeing a tarred lung, it definitely reinforces my choice not to smoke. (And it should for you too!)
Ack! Kwa-hanu-mas is right around the corner!

Sounds like a nice Thanksgiving weekend, Jase. I went and saw Bodies with my Dad not long ago... it was actually pretty cool. (Sidenote: Did I miss something? Boytoy? Please 'splain so I'm not completely crushed.)
Ok, first of all, I can't believe you went shopping without your girls. That was suppose to be our shopping date, remember? But I forgive you.
I haven't seen Rent, but I'll ask my boytoy to see it with me, except he might not since he's overly butch for it. These gold star butch gay men kill me, OK!
Anyhoo, I work for a hospital (pulmonary department) sweetie. Do you really think I haven't heard and seen it all? But, I'm doing good - you'll be proud to know ;) See you soon!!
Ah-hahhahahahahhaha~~~~
I saw the Bodies Exhibition on the History Channel once. (Wait, or was it A&E?) It was an interview with the artist. Pretty cool. :) I love going to South Sea Port, cause thats where I stock up Bath and Body works goodies. But I'm not sure if I can see the Exhibition though... Having to see the bodies in person might make me feel a bit.. uneazy...
Oh i saw that bodies exhibit in San Francisco. It was freaky and the bodies were dripping!
Glad you had a nice thanksgiving. I need to go to Woodbury Commons (well, not my wallet). I want to go to the Le Creuset outlet and get a Dutch Oven.
I've heard that body thing is amazing!
