Thought of the Day: Air Conditioner

Why is it called an 'air conditioner'? I would make more sense if it were called an 'air cooler'. You wouldn't even have to change the way you refer to it abbreviated: the 'AC'.

Speaking of which, I think I'm going to start referring to my air purifier as an 'air shampoo'.

Back in the day before you were born....in Houston (where A/C was allegedly invented), people would didn't know what to call this contraption that conditions the air to make it less dry and more cool. so some moron named it an air conditioner. i bet you it's the same one that calls a boiler a hot water heater.

I'm with CD... airpoo. That should sell! :)

BTW, if France, a/c is called climatisation. The word's similar in other languages. I find that choice interesting--it changes your climate.
